Storyboards Reveal Thor and Avenger Tie-In

(CHRISHEMSWORTH.NET) - Storyboards by Martin Asbury for the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger film reveal tie-ins to Norse mythology.  The artist's rendition depicts a battle scene with the villainous Red Skull.  The Cosmic Cube (suggested object in the post credits of Thor) that transforms wish to reality gives visions into "The Nine Realms," per the storyboards.  In Norse mythology, the Nine Realms span 3 levels including both Asgard and Midgard (Earth).

Level I: Asgard, realm of the Aesir; Vanaheim, world of the Vanir; and Alfheim, kingdom of the light elves.
Level II: Midgard, land of humans (middle world/garden); Nidavellir, province of the dwarfs; Jotunheim, region of the giants (Jotuns); and Svartalfheim, world of the dark elves.
Level III: Hel, world of the dead; and Niflheim, domain of the dead.

After the final battle scene in Thor, revisiting Earth no longer becomes an option for Asgardians.  The cube may provide Thor with a means of revisiting Earth and assembling with the Avengers.
